SPLASHBACKS

Splashbacks

TOUGHENED OR ANNEALED GLASS PANELS
What To Think About:

When choosing a splashback you should think about what colour you would like as this will have a large bearing on whether you use Standard or Low Iron glass.

Splashbacks that are to be used behind gas hobs, in bathrooms, in laundries or have cut outs in the glass like switch/plug holes will be made from toughened glass. For most other areas annealed glass can be used. You should also take into account the number of cut outs in the glass that will be required, as the more processing of the glass the more expensive it will become. A square splashback with no cut outs will be somewhat less expensive than the same square splashback with three cutouts for plugs/ switches.

All splashbacks are custom made to your size and requirements and can be ready to install in 7-10 working days from acceptance of quote and deposit made.

You have the options of having us measure, make and installed or you can opt for the DIY option. DIY option you will get the Splashback, Instructions to install, and sealant/adhesive to attach it to the wall. You can either pickup from us, or arrange for us to deliver (Hutt and Wellington Suburbs).

Glass Selection:

Safety Issues

  • Toughened glass - is a lot stronger than annealed glass and must be used behind gas hobs, in all wet areas like bathrooms and laundries and when there are cut outs in the glass.

  • Annealed glass - should only be used for splashbacks that have square edges and don’t have any cut outs in the glass as these will weaken the glass and it will break easily.

Colour Issues

  • Standard Glass - is inherently green, which lends a green tinge to any colour coating. This has the strongest effect on light or neutral colours. Darker colours are rendered approximately ¼ shade darker.

  • Low Iron Glass - is almost completely clear and has a far lesser effect on the colour coating, so where colour match is particularly important we recommend the use of low iron glass.

Colour Options:

Splashbacks can be back painted any colours from the Resene Mono colour & Metallic charts, other Resene colours need to be confirmed by contacting us and in most cases there isn't an issue. We can even arrange colour matching of other major paint manufacturers colours.

MIRRORS

Mirrors

RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL
Installing & Using Mirrors:

Using mirrors to create a sense of more space is a trick of interior designing. Mirrors help to give a sense of greater space by reflecting light, brightening up a room and can fool the eye into thinking there is a greater amount of space than there really is.

Mirrors have lots of uses which can include Bathrooms, Wardrobes, Hallways and Dressing rooms. Commercial mirrors have been installed in Fitting Areas, Dance and Yoga Studies, Fitness Centres and Restaurants.

Supply & Composition:

Mirrors can come in 4mm, 5mm and 6mm thicknesses, and can be supplied with Flat polished edges which gives the mirror a smooth finish on the edges.

Mirrors can also have bevelled edges from 10mm - 40mm depending on the mirror thickness and can also be made with sand blasted edges.

Mirror can be glue fixed or screwed to the wall using mechanical fitting and mounting frames. Our Mirrors are customer made to your size and requirements and we can either supply only for the DIY person or supply and install.
