Glass Shelves
GENERAL SHELVING
Custom & Comprehensive:
The glass shelves are custom made in various shapes (square, round, oval, rectangle with square corners and radius corners) and various sizes. For special shaped shelving often a template will need to be made so we can get the shape correct.

Glass thicknesses can range from 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm depending on the size and use of the shelf. Glass colours are standard glass, which has a green colouring in the glass, which is the most common used, through to grey, bronze, green and for a near perfect colouring low iron glass. Not all glass colours are available in all glass thicknesses.

Glass edge work at a minimum would have Flat polished edges which gives the edge a smooth finish.
What To Think About:
There are two basic types of shelving tops to consider:

Glass shelves that are fully supported over their entire area.
These shelves are the perfect way to show off your finished shelf surface, while protecting the finished surface from ware and tear. They are custom made to the shape of the shelf being covered. 4mm glass is often used but will depend on length and width of shelving.
Glass shelves that are not fully supported over their entire area.
These glass shelves can be used as a floating shelf allowing clear view to any cabinetry while supported in selected areas of the overall surface. Different glass will be required depending on the span of the shelf and it must overlap its support by at least 4mm.

Span to width radios exceeding 7:1 are not recommended and weight loading should also be taken into account.

All materials used comply with New Zealand safety standards.
